our family once held a Christmas gingerbread house contest,
everyone creating imaginative, fragile homes that eventually
fell apart.
these houses symbolize our beliefs.
without a strong foundation in Jesus Christ,
they collapse.
building on Christ,
we anchor our identity in God's truth,
not others' opinions, trusting
Him
to meet our needs.
when rooted in lies, we succumb
to despair.
when rooted in truth, we feel
secure and resilient.
as Christmas nears,
refocusing on what is true and praiseworthy
—per philippians—
helps us handle stress.
though circumstances may linger,
trusting God's care brings
peace.
isaiah assures us that a mind stayed on Him finds
perfect peace.
in life's storms, He is our refuge
our unshakable foundation.
i didn't win the contest,
only refilled candy and frosting.
but in that, i found victory
— small moments reminding us to build on a
lasting foundation.
